Ch Wincrest One Man Band JH CGC
During my early years with Libby I met Barbara Scott and Polly West. I showed in Indiana quite often and got to know Barb and Polly and admired their dogs. I saw Barb's Mellie (Ch Wincrest Millette Melody) at a show in Terre Haute in early '99 and loved her. I remember not daring ask if I could pet her. I was still a newbie then! I saw Jonnie (a Miles son) at the 2000 Summer specialty in Pennsylvania and decided I wanted a dog like him. I inquired with other breeders, but then Polly told me that Barb was having a litter out of Mellie, sired by Miles. I jumped at the chance for a male puppy from this litter and Barb so graciously allowed me to buy one. Thus Maestro joined the household. Maestro is very special because he is my first champion Brittany. Maestro was freestacking at eight weeks old and had lovely balanced structure. Since I was not very good at showing dogs yet, I only put the minor points on him....Barb did the rest. He finished easily at eighteen months old with a specialty major. My husband expressed an interest in handling Maestro in the hunt tests and handled him to our first Junior Hunter. Mike and Maestro have also done some intense obedience training together and I was able to show Maestro to his first CD leg. At some point we will get back into the obedience ring to try to finish that, if I can keep Maestro from bouncing off my chest on the recall! Maestro is OFA Good but neutered as I am not ready at this time to keep a stud dog.
